What I like most about this recipe is I can add more or less any ingredients I want. So, if I make spicy Shredded Chicken Tacos topping with salad the next week I might try with creamy tacos with different toppings.

You can add just about anything you want – Vegetable oil or Olive oil instead of Chicken broth, chili powder, a little sugar, onion etc., Homemade Tomato Sauce or Homemade Spaghetti Sauce or Salad or Cheese or even more fruits for topping garnish. For the Taco Seasoning:
- 3 tbsp Cumin ground
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp Ground mustard
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
For the Tacos:
- 12 Corn Tortillas (small Size)
- 4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts or thigh meat - Cut Into Pieces
- 2 tbsp Our homemade taco seasoning
- 1 cup Chopped tomatoes - (chopped into small pieces)
- Salt, Chili Powder - To Taste
- 4 Green Chilies - Diced
- Grated Cheese / Homemade Tomato Sauce / Sour Cream - To Taste (optional)
- 1/2 tsp Sugar (optional)
- 1 cup Salsa (optional)
- 2/3 cup Chicken broth
- 2 tbsp Olive oil (if you don't use Chicken broth)
- 1 cup Olive oil (if you decide to fry the whole tacos at the end)
For the Top Garnish:
- Salsa / Sour cream / Tomato sauce / Salad / Mixed fruits pieces / Diced avocado anything in your choice
Mixing Taco Seasoning
Add all of the seasonings to a bowl or jar big enough and mix well. Double the ingredients if needed. Keep it sealed in an airtight jar so it stays fresh!
You can use this Taco Seasoning if you don't want to use homemade seasoning.
Make the Tacos:
Coat the chicken breasts with the taco seasoning and place them in a deep non-stick saucepan.
Cover with lid and bring them to cook on medium-low heat for 4-5 minutes or simmer until cooked through.
After that turn off the heat, let the chicken cool. With two forks, shred the chicken meat into bite-size pieces.
Add Chopped tomatoes, Sugar (optional) and Diced Green Chilies. Pour little bit chicken broth if the chicken seems too much dry. Once it’s heated through and all seems ok, turn of the heat. Spoon into in warm taco shells or soft tortillas.
Want to fry the Tacos?
To fry the tacos, heat 1 cup Olive oil in a heavy bottom saucepan over medium-high. Place some chicken in the middle of a soft tortilla, then fold tortilla in half.
Clamp the tortilla shut with a heat-proof metal tong, then carefully place the taco - one side down in the oil. Use the tong to hold the top side down for a few seconds to form it in place. Once it stays put, repeat with other tacos.
Turn tacos after 30 to 45 seconds, or until each side gets light golden brown (not too much brown).
Place the tacos in paper towels to dry out extra oil.
Salad, fruits garnish with whatever toppings you like!
Even you can top with salsa / Cheese / Tomato Sauce / Homemade Spaghetti Sauce / Sour Cream if you didn't use them while cooking.
- This is a recipe that you can add or change just about any ingredients you want.
- I like adding Sour cream and sugar while cooking and Salad / Fruits / Our homemade tomato sauce as toppings.
- If you use freeze meat instead of fresh, add 10 minutes more for cooking.

- Store leftover shredded meat into freezer bags with the juices to freeze. Press out all the air and seal.
